Anthropogenic Chronicles – 19.06.206 – 06.09.2026

As a period in which human activity has become the primary driver of environmental change, the Anthropocene is permanently reshaping ecosystems and forms of life. Resource extraction, industrialization, and the artificial transformation of landscapes are creating imbalances whose effects are felt on a global scale.

Echoing the challenges of renovating and adapting the historic grounds of the Neuchâtel Museum of Ethnography (de-impermeabilization of soils, selection of tree species more resistant to climate change), the works brought together in this exhibition offer multiple approaches to this contemporary reality. Drawing from the diverse practices of students at the Académie de Meuron, they are brought together in a shared form: the photographic image, which engages in dialogue with the natural setting of the MEN.

Straddling observation and fiction, these works explore our relationship to the world, to living things, and to matter. Like chronicles, they stand as fragments, narratives, and perspectives on the transformations of our time.
